Logistics Department

The Logistics and Transportation Department provides daily and emergency procurement services for NCTTRAC and the TSA-E Healthcare Coalition. Logistics manages the Hospital Preparedness Program contract with the State of Texas. As inventory specialists, Logistics supports HPP-participating agencies and Emergency Medical Task Force 2 in the management of response equipment and supplies. The Logistics Department operates the Region’s licensed medical device warehouse from which it facilitates the shipping of response equipment and supplies to fill resource needs during emergencies.

The Logistics and Transportation Department supports inventory of equipment and supplies held by hospitals and agencies participating in the Hospital Preparedness Program. Overseeing more than 150 participating agencies, the Department facilitates and controls transfers and disposition, and sustainment of life-cycle products for over $24 million in program materiel. Logistics actively maintains over $4.5 million in emergency medical warehouse supplies and components, ensuring product maintenance and life-cycle turnover requirements are achieved.

Managing the supply chain in an ever-challenging economy, the Logistics and Transportation Department collaborates with suppliers and partners to increase our grant-funded buying power, resulting in cost improvements and operational efficiencies. Meeting federal and state grant management standards, the Logistics and Transportation Department provides one-stop shopping services for NCTTRAC and regional purchasing services for Healthcare Coalition members. From spot-buying to capital equipment orders, Logistics sources product needs, negotiates best pricing, and processes orders, ensuring the best value for our grant dollars.
Logistics’ operation of the NCTTRAC Emergency Medical Warehouse is unique within Texas. Fully licensed by the State of Texas as a Non-Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Distributorship, with Medical Gas capability, the warehouse occupies 22,800 square feet of space for the storage of medical devices, including climate controlled space and offices, and holding over $4.5 million in inventory and deployable assets. The department stores and maintains numerous EMTF-2 response trailers and two trucks, and coordinates commercial towing of these assets for exercises and real-life deployment.
